We had a complicated project which involved renovated a very dilapidated Victorian cottage, which uncovered rotten floor joist and ivy growing through the outside wall to the inside! It really could not have been worse. The team worked solely on our project until completion and Quentin was on site all of the time apart from 2 short holidays.

Quentin is an honest and perceptive man, solution focussed with so many ideas for top quality internal and external finishes. We went back to planning as after knocking down an internal partition, he suggested a different layout for rooms, which is so much better for us than the architect design. He takes the project personally and wants the finish as perfect as in his own house.

The quality of the workmanship is excellent. All of our friends have noticed this and asked for his number.

Our cottage is built off a slanting Victorian brick wall and we needed various wardrobes and units made as bespoke by their carpenter Steve. We are so pleased with the outcome and the suggestions he made for small details, which make all the difference to our daily lives.

Prek, who did all of the bathroom tiling, a garden path, brick pavers at the entrance of the house and paving for a new car parking space, large patio area and repointed the brick wall is exceptional - a real perfectionist, committed and hard-working. We cannot commend him enough.

Their plumbing and electrics are all great and the bricklayers who Quentin brought in refilled a doorway and constructed a new opening in Kentish ragstone of differing sizes like a jigsaw puzzle seamlessly. They also constructed the extension at the front of the house in matching Victorian bricks which blend with the original beautifully.

We changed the openings at the front of our house too involving using uprights to hold up the opening of our supporting front wall. This was not a problem. Our rear extension was taken down entirely and rebuilt with a new kitchen, we had a new staircase, new partitions upstairs, new doors internal and external, new windows, a new slate hearth, beautiful new engineered wood floors with underfloor heating throughout, 3 large sliding doors to the garden and lovely 'glass curtain' French doors from our bedroom downstairs onto the patio.

We spent more than we had hoped because we chose quality finishes, but the end result is that the value of the house has almost doubled. We could really not be happier with the work of Q Builds."
