Newbuild, Garrick Eyot, London

Completed: June 2010

This house on Garrick’s Eyot exploits the light and river vistas of the Thames.

On a small island near Hampton Court, this build presented real logistical challenges. It is a compact plot and the only access is by boat.

It is a compact plot, with only feet between the neighbouring properties and the only access was by boat. This was also a technically challenging project (completed in 6 months) because the site needed to be ‘extended’ – the three bedroom house rests on a steel platform that can be raised should the river rise.

We completed the project with zero complaints from neighbours.

Architect: Blustin Heath Design.

Client: David Coe.
